Omagh 2^nd XV took on their Ballymena counterparts on Saturday in a 2XV League and Towns Cup double header. With the game kicking off at 1pm Omagh played with the breeze in the first half as they faced towards the clubhouse and put in a good account of themselves but trailed 7-12 at the break after scoring from a lineout maul. Their defence was strong as Ballymena had to go wide to score but as they turned around for the second half the breeze turned into a gale and their work was cut out.

Ballymena scored with their first possession of the second half to go 7-19 infront but when Gibson broke from a scrum and fed Catterson a glimmer of hope was afforded to this young side. Catterson strolled in for the try from the 10 metre line and after the conversion Omagh only trailed by 5 points as the score was Omagh 2XV 14 Ballymena 2XV 19.

Unfortunately this was as good as it got for Omagh as Ballymena scored three further tries with the wind at their backs to run out 14-36 victors.
