Omagh Accies 2nd XV hosted Cavan 1st XV on Saturday in the first round of this season’s Towns Cup. In a physical encounter, Omagh enjoyed their best performance of the season so far by coming out 23-6 victors and putting their name into the hat for the next round.
Two tries from Mervyn Edgar and one from Lewis Kerrigan and Jason Adams each, accompanied by a penalty, saw Omagh emerge victorious in what was an intriguing watch from the sidelines.
Next up for the Accies 2XV is the tough assignment of an away trip to Instonians 2XV this Saturday.
